One off Cabinets

To design and make a single cabinet totally from scratch  is usually not economic for our customers (or us!) but we do offer a number of options below based around our existing cabinets.

Alternative Top Panels

Enlarging up to 6 holes on the 'standard' top panel (holes at 40mm centres) to provide alternative valve locations and sizes is charged at a flat $NZ55. Contact us to discuss your needs. These panels have more choice of colour as they have to be painted especially after enlarging the holes (a significant proportion of the cost).

Variations on ezChassis

-'Short' panels may be done as one offs (as they can be cut down from existing panels)
-Special variations for small volume manufacturers may be done economically for as few as ten cabinets.

OEM / Design & Build Services

Design Build Listen Limited offers high tech skills in both design and manufacture of Audio equipment. In particular, sheetmetal cabinets for audio electronics and turntables. Design Build Listen is based in Dunedin, New Zealand where the local engineering sector is skilled in making low to medium volumes of high quality equipment.

Full 3D Computer Aided Design is used as a primary design tool enabling parts to be ‘right first time’. These CAD models can be downloaded to state of the art metal punching, laser cutting and CNC woodworking equipment to make prototypes and production volumes. A good exchange rate to Northern Hemisphere countries and the ability to make the smaller volumes required by specialist Audio makers means Design Build Listen is an attractive proposition.

Simon Brown, the Principal of Design Build Listen, has 20 years of experience as a Professional Mechanical Engineer in product design in New Zealand and Europe. He also has 20 years of experience with Audio both as a writer for the magazine Audio Enz and as a designer.
